The Kindergarten/Extended Day program at Naudain Montessori Academy fosters qualities such as initiative, concentration, self-discipline, a sense of order, persistence in completing a task, responsibility, creative self-expression and a love of learning.
The purpose of the Kindergarten/ Extended Day Program is to serve as an extension of the morning class, providing the five and six-year-olds with the additional intellectual and social stimulation needed to meet their growing needs.
It is during this time that all of the learning absorbed by the child during his two to three previous years of Montessori training suddenly fits together. Eventually the child begins reading, writing, doing math and showing other spurts of intellectual growth. The Extended Day/Kindergarten program at Naudain Montessori Academy fosters such qualities as initiative, concentration, self-discipline, a sense of order, persistence in completing a task, responsibility, creative self-expression and a love of learning. The longer a child can reinforce his/her good habits and learning skills, the higher the probability that he/she will internalize them and make them a permanent part of his development.
